Five large West-Michigan businesses offered their support to efforts to build a new International crossing of the Detroit River into Canada . Amway Corporation, Kellogg Company, Meijer, Inc., Steelcase, Inc., and Wolverine World Wide, Inc. stated the project would build on the state’s existing strengths and provide a positive economic boost.
Meanwhile, House Transportation Committee Chair Representative Paul Opsommer (R-DeWitt) has been meeting with Snyder Administration lobbyist Dick Posthumus and others and indicated that talks will continue as a deal has not-yet been reached.
