Hilfinger Named DELEG Director

Governor Rick Snyder announced the appointment of metro-Detroit attorney Steve Hilfinger as Director of the Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth succeeding interim Director Andy Levin, former Governor Granholm’s appointment. A 1984 graduate of the University of Michigan and 1987 graduate of Northwestern University School of Law, Hilfinger had a 23-year legal career with expertise in corporate acquisitions, restructuring and regulatory affairs, most recently as the managing partner of Foley & Lardner’s Detroit office.

Hilfinger received the William A. Paton Award for the highest score on the Michigan CPA exam and is admitted to practice law in Michigan and Illinois. He will begin his new role on February 28^th.

An announcement from Governor Snyder is expected soon regarding the plans by the Administration to restructure and likely rename the huge Department.
