On a 12-3 vote, the House Regulatory Reform Committee passed Senate Bill (SB) 20, legislation preventing a department, commission, or board from promulgating rules requiring companies to enforce ergonomic standards. The full composition of the House Republican Campaign Committee was announced by Speaker Jase Bolger (R-Marshall). In addition to returning Chair Rep. Brewer Re-Elected
Detroit TV producer Ron Scott ended his run for Michigan Democratic Party Chair Saturday morning at the state convention when convention rules required him to pay a $1,000 fee to be on the ballot. Incumbent Chair Mark Brewer was then elected on a unanimous ballot. In other news from the convention, United Auto Workers (UAW) President Bob King was elected to fill a vacancy as a member of the Democratic National Committee.
