Last week, PAAdvisory asked, “In the
wake of the “deal” in Washington last week, the “talking heads” took to the
airways on Sunday’s morning talk show circuit. Much was made of the potential
for a “grand bargain” or significant deal being reached prior to the new
deadlines on the U.S. government budget situation and debt ceiling. Given that
2014 is a mid-term election year for Congress, what do you believe are the
chances of a significant, long-term deal associated with the debt ceiling,
federal budget, tax reform, etc.?”
a) Absolutely – it will happen.
b) Are you nuts? – No chance.
c) Ehhh…I think they can get there.
d) I’d like to be optimistic, but I just
don’t think it’ll happen.
e) I’m 50-50.
